Jacque Cates and Family Update
What an awesome priviledge to be able to update everyone on my family and what you all meant to me through the years. From the summer of 1976 to the summer of 1980 I went from death's door to a journey of life and never ending changing seasons of growth. I will never forget sitting in Lorene's living room waiting for an OU football game to start, literally at death's door wondering what these crazy college kids could possibly know about life and the struggles I was facing; all I knew was that I had to be there! I could feel the love, you could cut it with a knife at His Highway House a few days before and I wanted what you had! Not expecting to live past twenty (having died at age five, revived and my mom being told that I 'might' live to be 20), there I sat in that kitchen chair in the middle of the living room as these crazy college kids "chanted" all around me. The chair litterally floated into heaven, a heat started at the tip of my toes and flowed up my body and exploded like a volcano from the top of my head. You cannot explain heaven, but I didn't want to leave there, but suddenly I was back to a cheering bunch of 'kids' and I thought, "Wow, that was some experience." The game started and I didn't realize until a few days later when I went to the doctor that I had been healed of "all my diseases". It is an awesome journey I am on. From death's door to teaching on healing and diseases. Though I went through a period of disilusion and rebellion the Lord restored me in 1996 after losing my right kidney and spending 30 days in the hospital once again at death's door. In that time (long story) I realized that this life is not my own, in a split second I could be gone. Every second upon this earth is in God's hand and I vowed then that every breath I take, every second I have on this earth is His, everything I am or ever hope to be is His!!
I can look back on some things and decisions I have made and see God's hand of protection and guidence. Sitting in the hospital parking lot going into shock from renal failure, ending up in the emergency room and finding out that my doctor was in his office praying for me!! Awesome!!
I moved from Florida back to Oklahoma (in rebellion, bitterness and anger), restored in that hospital and through a pastor in my home town of Wewoka was given the opportunity to serve God with all I am and ever hope to be. I believe God took me back to my home town (which was the last place I ever thought I would be) for the complete healing I needed from the childhood abuse and neglect. I had only those memories of that town, but God put all that aside and I began to remember all the good times, playing in the creek, making pottery from the red and grey Oklahoma clay, an ice cold coke on a scorching summer day, all day Saturday at the movies for a quarter!! :) HE also renewed my relationship with my brother and he accepted the Lord as his Savior as I sat by his side and prayed for him. Wow!! That was worth a kidney!

I can't write this without crying, because you, NCFer's are the reason I am still here to write it!! I love you all so much and am thankful that you were in place for "such a time as 'then'"!!
I live with my daughter and son-in-law in Columbia, SC and take care of my 6 year old grandson, Calvin, and home-schooling him. On SS and about a fourth of the income I was making when I
was working, it is just a win-win situation for the family. Lisa works long hours as marketing director for Thunder Tower Harley Davidson and her husband, Greg, also works long hours as partner in Liberty Tap Room and Grill in the historic district of downtown Columbia.
Calvin is my shadow and my #1 fan!! I am so priviledged to be such an intrical part of his life. He has gifts and talents yet to be developed and some yet to be discovered. I am doing my best that they are all used for the glory of God!
Clinton moved from Florida to Tennessee and married and had two sons, Chip and Casey. He divorced and lived in some difficulties trying to stayconnected to his sons. As the boys were older he was released to get on with his life and about a year ago moved back to Oklahoma and has a good job at Metro Tech. His relationship with his dad was restored and he is very happy. Chip, my oldest grandson has made me a great-grandma twice, two boys. Mason is 3 and Caidyn is 1. They still live in Tennessee, but are seeking direction on where to go now.
Casey graduates high school this year and wants to go to Oklahoma after graduation. He spent a year with Clinton there, but didn't have enough credits to graduate so returned to TN to finish high school.
We all got to be together for Christmas this year. It was awesome to have my whole family together
at one time.
I could go on and on about the things that have happened in my life from NCF until now. You can read about them in postings on my web site JOYFULTIDINGS LUKE 2:10. You can also keep in touch via e-mail joyfultidings@hotmail.com or phone 803-673-8801 Love and Prayers to you all, Jacque
